Thing Seven.

This first picture is my first crochet project.  It was a present for my mother on Mother's Day.  She loved it!  I started it last fall and it took me all winter and the first part of the spring to finish.  It's a blanket in case you were wondering.  There are 140 colored dots and then I crocheted them all together with the cream color yarn.

The next picture is my dog, Bruce.  He is a 6 yr old boxer.  Although some people think he looks scary, he is a baby.  He can feel when a storm is coming and he hides in the bathtub about 30 minutes before one actually begins.  Also, keep Bruce in your thoughts over the July 4th week.  He is terrified of fireworks and will not go outside, even to potty, once he hears just one bottle rocket.  He celebrates our nation's birthday by hiding under the bed.

I really liked Flickr and thought that it was pretty easy to navigate.  The step by step directions on the homepage made uploading pictures fairly simple.  I have not used any picture sharing sites before navigating Flickr, unless you count facebook.  I really like that you can choose to make your pictures public or private, and the idea of joining groups to show your pictures can make picture sharing very efficient.
I could use Flickr in my future classroom by having students explore pictures of the places we are discussing in class.  For example, if we are learning about Ancient Rome the students can look up pictures that people have posted from the ruins.  They could post their favorite picture with an explanation about the history behind which ruin they chose and upload them on our class blog.  Wow, look how I am using technology to my advantage in the classroom!

Onto the next thing.  Seven down and sixteen to go!
