Who knew all the things that Google had to offer? I sure didn't.
I created a Google Alert on "new techniques on teaching history". I thought this would be a great way to keep on top of what is new in my field of study. On the more "fun" side, or something that I would look at in my free time, I created a Google Alert on "NFL news". I am crazy for football and love Sundays in the fall. Finally, after 14 seasons of watching football with my husband I am starting to get the hang of it. Every year I have fewer and fewer questions.
The other Google "item" that I navigated was the calendar. I actually have a old school planner that I still use and list all of my things to do and places to go in it. I was surprised at how simple this calendar was to use. Just click on the date and type a description of the event, i.e., dentist at 8:30 or Alex's baseball game at 6:00. Hit "enter" and your item appears on the calendar. This can really help teachers with their planning and meetings that they have to attend. I know teachers have many committees that they are members of, and the Google calendar can help to organize. I am a planner and organizer and "to do" list maker so, I LOVE the calendar.
Now I am more than halfway. It is amazing how time flies. Oh, wait it's only been two weeks. Whew!
Twelve down and eleven to go!
Katy, I wish I could get into football. It puts me to sleep.(then again so does most sports, politics, twilight, glee, and shopping) I'm going to check the alert in google. Sounds fun. Now I dodn't have to miss a moment of Justin Bieber's shenanigans.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Twilight puts you to sleep. Them's fightin words!
