Hello again! Well, I did it! I have a blog! I love it! Can you tell?!? Too many exclamation points?!? I have had a lot of fun creating this blog. It has been time consuming by picking out templates, avatars, colors, layouts, titles, usernames, passwords, etc. Even though I have spent hours on this blog, I have enjoyed my time, and with the "23 Things" list I feel as though I am accomplishing something. This is not just busy work, but something that I would actually use in the future. A. H., a classmate of mine, and I are going to be professional bloggers in our next life! As I write this I am drinking coffee and listening to the Dixie Chicks (I don't care if they don't like George Bush, I still like their music.) What a great way to do homework!
The first step in creating this blog was to pick a name. I wanted something personal, but not too personal if you know what I mean. I chose to put Katy in the title instead of Martin, since Martin is such a common last name. Katy with a y is a bit more unique. Obviously, I included the 23 Things so that our class knew what blog they were reading.
I chose a template that I liked, and one that I also thought would be memorable. I wanted something other than just a classic background. I like bright colors and designs so I thought this one was perfect. It is also quite summery for our summer class. I am going to be spending most of June in a computer lab, and at least I get to look at something pretty while I am inside.
I really enjoyed creating my avatar. I feel like I could have sat there for hours making different characters and deciding what shirt to put with what hairstyle. I know I keep using the terms "I enjoyed" and "I had fun", but it's the truth. I really have been pleasantly surprised at how the "23 Things" list has been set up. The avatar I made was meant to look like me (kind of). I put red hair and green eyes on her, like me, and I dressed her in something that I would wear. I put earphones on her because I enjoy music, and I wish I could have added lots of accessories. I could have put books, a laptop, a dog, a baby, and several other things that would have explained something about my personality. I decided to go with coffee, since it made her into a girl on the go, which is what I feel like 23 hours a day.
Now that I am feeling comfortable with accessing and posting on my blog I am eager to complete the list.
Two down and twenty one to go!
Too bad Starbucks is not opened in the library. We would have went broke though and had to polish computer screens for gas money. I like your blog and the colors are so in line with your spunky NON-CARLA personality!
ReplyDeleteHa! I know! Thanks for checking out my blog. I am going to check our yours this weekend so be looking for a comment from me. Thanks for all your help in setting up my blog. It was fun! I think we need to add some avatars with kimonos!
